Artist Tea with guest artist Meg Madison.
Sunday Dec 10, 2017 9 am to 11 am
Cap Rock parking area, Joshua Tree National Park
Madison maps the native desert plants on one 5-acre parcel of high desert land with time and light. A cyanotype print is made with the sun, the wind, the passage of time, and the shadow of the plant against the paper. Development in local well water creates a brilliant blue print with the shadow (white) impression of the plant.
Madison will discuss the land, her cyanotypes, and show her artist books: “This LaND”, Los Angeles, 2017, 30” x 22”, and “Desert Neighbors”, ed. 50, 2016 a limited edition artist zine. She invites other artist/participants to bring any handmade artist books or zines to share.
